Nine artists have been announced by CBS and Dick Clark Productions to appear on the October 6 “American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special.”

The first wave of talent to be featured on the live broadcast includes Mariah Carey, Brad Paisley, Gladys Knight, Green Day, Stray Kids, Jennifer Hudson, Kane Brown, Raye, and Chaka Khan.

Producers also revealed that Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, and former AMAs host Jimmy Kimmel will all make appearances in the two-hour extravaganza.

Many of the performers on the roster for the show were revealed by the network. Carey is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her album “The Emancipation of Mimi” with a medley of songs from that record. The 22-time AMA winner Whitney Houston will be honored by Hudson with an homage.

Stray Kids, a K-pop group, will pay homage to boy bands. Raye’s performance will commence with a tribute to past American Music Award of Merit winners, followed by James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World.” Kane Brown will perform a combination of contemporary and classic country songs.

To sing her own beloved song, “I’m Every Woman,” Khan is on board. Fifty years after performing “Midnight Train to Georgia” on the inaugural AMAs event in 1974, Knight will now sing the song.

On October 6, the 50th anniversary special will be shown live on CBS from coast to coast, with timeslots of 8 to 10 p.m. on the east coast and 5-7 p.m. on the west. Paramount+ With Showtime customers can also watch it at that time, or on demand; Paramount+ Essential subscribers can watch it the following day.
