If you plug in Apple’s new iPhones, they will charge more quickly than before.

According to certification from the China Quality Certification Center, as noted by 9to5Mac and observed by ShrimpApplePro, this is the case. With USB-C, Apple’s latest iPhones can all be charged to 45W.

Apple did make notice of the faster wireless charging functionality for the new iPhone 16 series of smartphones during its Monday address. According to Apple, all of the new phones—the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max—support Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W and MagSafe wireless charging up to 25W with a 30W adaptor or higher. This is also stated in the official specs sheet. Apple also claims that the phones can be fast-charged via wired connections; the specifications state that you may achieve “50 percent charge in around 30 minutes” when using a USB-C charging cable in conjunction with a 20W adapter or above.

The specification sheet is silent on the fact that the new models have a 45W peak power, which theoretically allows for even faster charging than the 30W maximum power that the previous versions could handle.

This implies that if end consumers utilize a 45W charger that is compatible, they should be able to charge their iPhone 16 devices more quickly than before. To find out which chargers are the best and whether you can charge significantly faster this method, some practical testing will be required.
