In a recent TV appearance, Bill Murray broke down in tears as he discussed his “good” friend Bruce Willis, who has multiple crippling illnesses.
On Monday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” Murray sat down with host Andy Cohen to discuss the actor’s lengthy film career. They talked about one of Bill’s well-known films, “Moonrise Kingdom,” which costarred Willis.
It was “a really beautiful, lovely film,” according to Bill, who also mentioned that he “got to work with and have a wonderful time with Bruce Willis,” who recently celebrated his 70th birthday. As you are aware, Willis has spent the last three years battling two conditions that affect the brain and speech: frontal temporal dementia and aphasia.

Murray remarked that BW is a “good f***ing guy,” before reminiscing about how they initially connected on the set of “Saturday Night Live” on NBC many years ago.

According to Bill, Bruce was an NBC Page at the time, a young professional who was still getting to know the entertainment industry. Bill claimed that Bruce would enter the dressing rooms of the performers and replenish the canisters of pretzels and M&Ms.

Later, after Bruce’s rise to fame, Murray informed Cohen that BW had thanked him and Gilda Radner, a late SNL veteran, for being “nice to me” during his time as an NBC Page.
Then, when his voice broke and he gestured to his glassy eyes, Bill became emotional and declared that he was “good with” BW.
Near the end of the interview, Cohen showed some emotion, as if he was completely absorbed in Bill’s story.
