As of the first week of January 2025, Roku had over 90 million streaming households.
After declaring in October that it would no longer offer quarterly updates on its streaming household numbers and average income per user, the streaming platform released the report on Tuesday. There were 85.5 million streaming households as of October.
This news follows the revelation of monthly active user numbers by Tubi, a free streaming service with ads that competes with Roku Channel, on Monday. The platform reported 97 million monthly active users. As of the end of October, there were 88 million monthly active users of Samsung’s FAST service, TV Samsung Plus.
Pluto, a prominent rival in the FAST market that is owned by Paramount, has not disclosed its user base since May 2023, when it claimed to have 80 million active users each month.

“With more engagement than any other TV OS platform in the U.S., Roku’s broad reach sets us apart in the streaming industry,” stated Anthony Wood, Roku’s founder and CEO. “Millions of viewers choose Roku because of our unwavering commitment to making the streamer’s journey easier and better. I want to express my gratitude to our clients, partners, sponsors, and staff for helping us achieve this significant milestone.
Prior to this, Roku had stated that it would prioritize platform profitability and revenue over the quantity of streaming homes. However, the business stated that it intended to reveal significant benchmarks, such hitting 100 million streaming households.
