After being on the run, a hotel employee who is suspected of giving drugs to Liam Payne in a soap box just before he died in Buenos Aires has turned himself in to Argentinean authorities.

To TMZ, prosecutors say Ezequiel David Pereyra, 21, negotiated his surrender on Monday night with his attorney. After being notified, police visited his home and took him into custody.

Since being accused of giving Liam drugs, he had been evading capture.

Pereyra has not yet responded to the accusations against him, filed a plea, or acknowledged any wrongdoing.

Pereyra was feeling the heat when officials used an arrest warrant to raid his residence on the outskirts of Buenos Aires on Friday, January 3, according to the Argentine newspaper La Nacion.

Along with a number of other residential addresses, the publication also claims that officials monitored a location where he was allegedly employed. Pereyra eventually turned himself in as a result of all that pressure.

As you may recall, TMZ was able to get exclusive footage of Liam briefly entering the CasaSur Palermo Hotel’s basement in Buenos Aires, where he was greeted by Pereyra, a former bellhop, who shook his hand in what appeared to be a very cordial exchange.

Three hours prior to Liam’s death, he was seen on camera falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel suite. The fall was attributed to the effects of the narcotics he had taken.
