Tim Burton has gotten “a little bit disillusioned with the movie industry” in recent years.
The 66-year-old director has acknowledged to feeling “lost” at times, but he has rekindled his passion of filmmaking with ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,’ the long-awaited sequel to 1988’s ‘Beetlejuice’.
Tim, whose new picture opened at the Venice picture Festival, explained: “Over the last five years, I became a little disillusioned with the movie industry, and I sort of lost myself.
“I realized that in order to be successful, I had to enjoy what I was doing. I had a lot of fun making this one.”

Tim noticed that ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ “has an energy and a personal nature to it”.
He stated, “We performed everything swiftly; things that would normally take months were completed immediately.
“We’d go to a toy store and break up a doll, attach rods to it, and do other things. That was the spirit, and it does not always occur in films. It has vitality and a personal feel to it that everyone contributed to.”
Meanwhile, Jenna Ortega recently stated that she has no reservations about joining the ensemble of ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’.
The 21-year-old actress also enjoyed reuniting with Tim, who directed her in ‘Wednesday’.
Jenna, who plays Wednesday Addams in the blockbuster Netflix comedy, told ‘Extra’: “[Tim] threw me off. It was in Malibu. We were discussing ‘Wednesday’; give me the ‘Beetlejuice’ script.
“I said, ‘Oh, alright, OK, cool. Thank you very much.’ Left. I got in my car and pulled over on the side of Pacific Coast Highway after about 10 minutes. I just read the whole thing.”
