An Oakland rapper was shot and died during the grand opening of her new beauty supplies store this weekend.
On Saturday (July 13), rapper Tan DaGod was shot numerous times at the Glamor Beauty Supply store on Telegraph Avenue in the city’s central section. According to reports, Tan DaGod had just gotten into a “dispute” with someone outside the store at 5 p.m. when a man in a hoodie approached and began shooting, hitting Tan DaGod and another person several times.
While the other victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive the shooting, Tan DaGod died from her injuries, prompting a lot of the rapper’s associates and fans to express their grief on social media.

“The violence is beyond comprehension; the hurt, pain, and trauma have left an indelible mark,” said veteran Oakland artist Mistah F.A.B. in a social media post honoring Tan DaGod. “I will always remember you as a hustling a** go getter, with a world of ambition, drive and courage and a heart big as TEXAS!!!!” according to him.

Tan DaGod has released several songs this year, the most popular being “That’s My Ex Pack,” in which she raps about murdering her ex-boyfriend. The single, which was published several months ago, now has over 40,000 views on YouTube.
