Metallica is headed to Minneapolis for a two-night performance at U.S. Bank Stadium, but the band is also delivering on a vow to take over the Twin Cities between gigs on August 16 and 18.

A Metallica-packed Saturday, billed as the Metallica Takeover, will feature a Metallica Film Festival, a tribute band, a photo exhibit and discussion, a “Name That Tune” competition, a concert from Bastardane featuring the sons of Metallica band members, a pop-up shop, and, possibly because Metallica’s fanbase is no longer as young as it once was, bowling.

The M72 World Tour promises that the thrash metal icons will deliver a unique show on each of the two nights, with new set lists (no song will be played on both nights) and different openers.

Proceeds from the tour go to Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation, which supports organizations such as technical colleges and food shelf programs.

For fans who don’t want to take a vacation between gigs (tickets are still available for as cheap as $55), here’s a rundown of what will happen during the Metallica Takeover on August 17.
