Not all boxing fans are looking forward to Mike Tyson’s forthcoming battle versus Jake Paul. Championship fighter Deontay Wilder is concerned that the bout will harm not only Tyson’s legacy, but also his physical well-being.

“I don’t want the last thing I remember about him being knocked out by a YouTuber,” the world heavyweight champion told Sportsbook Review. “The last thing you do, that’s what people remember you by.”

He went on to explain why he thought the fight would be more harmful than beneficial.

“I think it’s bad the commission has licensed Mike Tyson, because he hasn’t been active in 20 years, so they should not just license him because of who he is,” explained Wilder. “That’s how people get hurt – God forbid he gets hurt.”

He went on to say, “People can be hit in the wrong place and at the wrong time; there have been numerous cases where men have fallen into a coma.” It’s simple to accomplish. He is too old for this. “At the end of the day, nobody cares about Mike.”

“I take it serious!” Tyson boasted last month as he demonstrated his training routine.

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are set to meet battle on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations has sanctioned and recognized the fight as a professional event. The two guys will fight in eight two-minute rounds, each wearing 14-ounce gloves. The outcome will affect their professional boxing records.

The game will also be live streamed on Netflix.
