Founded in 2018, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship was the first promotion to hold a legal, sanctioned, and controlled bare-knuckle event in the United States since 1889.

Only competitors with a proven track record in boxing, MMA, kickboxing, or Muay Thai are permitted to enter the Bare Knuckle’s Squared Circle, while judges and referees must also have substantial professional combat sports experience. BKFC also prevents contestants from wrapping their hands within one inch of the knuckle, claiming that the promotion is the purest form of bare knuckle boxing in the combat sports world.
