Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory is scheduled to be freed from prison. According to The Detroit News, the Black Mafia Family’s co-founder could be free by 2025.
The hustler was initially sentenced to 30 years, but he was released in 2008. According to the publication, Flenory’s attorney, Brittany K. Barnett, first had his sentence reduced by 32 months. After being found guilty of large-scale drug trafficking and money laundering, Barnett stressed his client’s commitment to rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. also announced the news on his Instagram Story. He shared a post, recognizing how thrilled he must have been to learn that his father would be released from prison early.
Big Meech and his brother Terry Lee “Southwest Tee” Flenory established BMF as a design firm and Hip-Hop label in 1985. However, in the 2000s, federal officials discovered that the company was simply a front for a complex money laundering enterprise. According to the feds, BMF transported cocaine across the country, generating more than $270 million in sales.
According to the Detroit News, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration officers destroyed the cocaine enterprise in 2005 during a now-famous drug bust. Big Meech, Southwest Tee, and over 100 other conspirators were arrested for their crimes.

Meanwhile, BMF, the show, is preparing for its third season. The hit show will return for another chapter in their drug-riddled journey on March 1 at 8 p.m. EST on Starz. Ahead of the debut, Variety reports that the program has been renewed for a fourth season.
“Fans can’t get enough of the history-making that is BMF,” Kathryn Busby, Starz’s president of programming, said. “We’re thrilled to start working on a new season that will continue bold storytelling of the legend of the Flenory brothers that has proven to resonate so deeply with our viewers.”
BMF is one of Starz’ most popular shows. According to the publication, the series received an average of 10.6 million viewers across several platforms.
