Kanye West brings Taylor Swift’s name up on a regular basis, and he has been doing it more frequently lately as the rapper promotes his new album Vultures 1.

He recently took to Instagram to criticize the pop singer’s fan base, praise the superstar, and, of course, add gasoline to the flames that is their highly public feud.

The controversial hip-hop artist posted a screenshot of an X (previously Twitter) account dedicated to Swift. The tweet he tweeted was an attempt to persuade Swift’s fans to keep buying the new Beyoncé tracks and help them have a big debut on next week’s Billboard charts. The purpose is less to support Beyoncé and more to ensure that West’s new single “Carnival” ranks lower on the Hot 100 than it would otherwise.

West discovered this post and shared it with his 20 million Instagram followers. He also offered some strong words, including some remarks about Swift and his connection with the Grammy winner.

The rapper started his caption with, “WHEN I SAID THAT I’M THE NEW JESUS BITCH, I WASN’T EVEN THINKING ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT.” West utilized that line in “Carnival,” the song that Swifties are attempting to ban from topping the Billboard charts next week.

He went on to say that Swifties should “remember I was on Taylor’s side when Scooter bought her masters behind her back,” referring to the singer’s masters being sold away from her. That prompted the superstar to start re-recording her first six albums, a procedure that has been extremely beneficial for her. West also stated something nice about her, saying, “SHE AND BEYONCÉ ARE BIG INSPIRATIONS TO ALL MUSICIANS. WE ALWAYS SAY HOW BOTH SELL OUT TOURS AND MOVIES.”

But the line that has many Swifties–and possibly Swift herself–rising their eyebrows comes at the end of his lengthy caption. “I’m sure I’ve been far more helpful to Taylor Swift’s career than harmful,” the rapper wrote. He also added a joke–or so it appears–by adding, “TO ALL TAYLOR SWIFT FANS I AM NOT YOUR ENEMY UUUM IM NOT YOUR FRIEND EITHER THOUGH lol.”

Swifties’ efforts appear to have been spurred by West’s prior actions. Earlier this week, he released another X post, revealing that he has surpassed the “Anti-Hero” musician as the most-streamed artist on Spotify. He appeared to shade her in doing so, and her large fan base reacted by seeking to prevent West from becoming another major commercial success.

Fans have voted “Carnival” as the most popular tune from Vultures 1. The track swiftly rose to No. 1 on Spotify’s U.S. list, outperforming every other track on his joint new album with Ty Dolla $ign. The song will compete with Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” for a strong start on the Hot 100 next week. Both appear to be on track for a top ten start, but although some hope she will defeat the rapper, his followers would prefer to see him win.
