Meek Mill recently spoke about his 2007 arrest on the 17th anniversary of the day he was jailed for attempted or aggravated assault against a police officer.
Meek commented on the event on Twitter, claiming that police lied about the circumstances. They had secured a search warrant for his home after an officer from Philadelphia’s Narcotics Field Unit reported that he supplied crack to an informant. Police said Meek followed them and shot one of them. He utilized his mug image from the arrest to cover his Dreamchasers 4 mixtape.

“January 23rd I caught this case I got charged for pointed a gun at a cop and selling crack,” he said. “I was just walking to the store with a gun to protect my only life in a dangerous neighborhood!” The cops lied to me, and karma is repaying me! Be a good person, and you will flourish! I didn’t sell or have crack on me! I only sold crack for a few weeks when I was completely broke; I was selling pot to the folks who sold crack and had enormous piles of cash! The same weed trapping they do now! But spending $6,000 per pound for haze at age 17 is insane lol.”
In another tweet, Meek said, “I never sold heroin in my life, yet it killed one of my favorite aunts! Approximately a couple weeks before Christmas, if I recall correctly. There are a million ways to get this money, and I would never sell it if I knew the consequences! Sh*t murdered my cousin’mom’, and we cried for months!” Check out his tweets about the subject below.
