Lohan makes an appearance in the tournament, as the moderator of a math competition in the new film.

Meanwhile, Angourie Rice reprises Lohan’s former role as newcomer Cady Heron, navigating the complexities and power of high school.

Tina Fey reprises her role as math instructor Ms Norbury, and Jon Hamm joins the ensemble as Coach Carr.

However, it appears that, while Lohan’s role was minor, her salary was far from modest.

However, it has been stated that one scene in the film left Lohan feeling ‘hurt’ and ‘disappointed’, which is definitely not due to the supposed compensation.

Many fans of the original film were taken aback after rushing to the theater, with one individual’s reaction in particular capturing the attention of people online.

Footage from inside the cinema recorded the audience’s groans and laughing as they realized the film was a musical.

The new version hasn’t strayed too far from the original, but it does offer tweaks on the modern classic.

The official synopsis reads: “New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls known as ‘The Plastics,’ ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (Reneé Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen.”

“However, when Cady makes the serious mistake of falling for Regina’s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself in Regina’s crosshairs. As Cady prepares to take down the group’s apex predator with the help of her outcast friends Janis (Auli’i Cravalho) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey), she must learn how to be true to herself while navigating the most cutthroat jungle of all: high school.”
