On New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles, Ian Ziering, the actor from “Beverly Hills 90210,” was reportedly attacked by a bunch of motorcycles who were traveling down Hollywood Boulevard.

Moments before the altercation turned violent, Ziering is seen getting out of his car and confronting one of the motorcyclists in the middle of the road in TMZ footage. Other bikers soon join in on the altercation and start attacking Ziering until he manages to flee by fleeing across the street.

Although the cause of the fight is still unknown, TMZ reports that Ziering was named as the victim in a police report.

It has been a weekly occurrence, according to people who work in the surrounding region, for the bikers to be causing disruption in the area. According to reports, the bikers frequently swerve in and out of traffic on the busy road, confusing oncoming motorists.

On Monday, Ziering posted a response to the incident on his personal Instagram.

“One of these riders approached my car aggressively while we were stalled in traffic, which resulted in an uncomfortable altercation. I got out of my car to try to see if there was any damage,” the post said in part. “This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”

Although Ziering claims to have been “unscathed” by the incident, he is now “deeply concerned” about the increasing boldness of organizations that disturb the peace. His juvenile daughter was also in the car.

“This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior,” Ziering said. “As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient.”

LAPD detectives are still investigating the incident. No other information was given.
