IYKYK Snoop Dogg’s fondness for youth football is what inspired the plot of The Underdoggs, a forthcoming movie available on Amazon Prime Video.

A red band trailer released by Prime Video introduces Snoop Dogg as a former football player who finds newfound love for the game after being assigned to coach a young football squad. The official Prime Video summary is as follows:

Snoop Dogg plays a washed-up former professional football player named Jaycen “Two Js” Jennings, who has reached his lowest point. Jaycen views his community service sentence as a chance to improve his public image and start a new chapter in his life when he is assigned to coach the Underdoggs, a rowdy pee-wee football team in his hometown of Long Beach, California. Jaycen rekindles his love for the game and makes connections with some of his former teammates and an old flame while trying to turn the foul-mouthed Underdoggs into elite champs.

The Underdoggs starring Andrew Schulz, Tika Sumpter, Mike Epps, and George Lopez in addition to Snoop. Executive producers Jeremiah Samuels and Anni Weisband are joined by Kenya Barris, Snoop Dogg, Constance Schwartz-Morini, Mychelle Deschamps, and Jonathan Glickman in the producing team.
