Taylor Swift’s in-theater performance pre-sales have already surpassed $150 million worldwide, with opening night sellouts surpassing ‘Barbie.’

Swifties are ecstatic to see their star on the big screen. According to EntTelligence data, Taylor Swift’s in-theater concert film has already earned more than $100 million in domestic pre-sales, with another $50 million earned worldwide. That is more than Greta Gerwig’s Barbie picture in terms of sheer opening night sellouts.

According to EntTelligence data, almost 4,200 showtimes were sold out out of 13,000 possible showtimes, equating to 32% – a staggering amount when compared to Barbie’s 500. Barbie grossed $162 million in its first weekend, including $70.5 million from night-before previews. Taylor Swift’s concert video will be released on Friday the 13th, her lucky day, with the first shows beginning at 6 p.m., so Thursday night previews are out.

The top-selling cities for the concert film include New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia, which is not surprising given that these are the most populous cities in the United States, with a bigger span of theaters exhibiting the video.

Analysts do not expect Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour to outperform films like Barbie and Spider-Man: No Way Home (which debuted with $260.1 million and had $121.9 million in Thursday night previews), especially given the small number of theaters where it will be released compared to major studio blockbusters. Nonetheless, the revenue is significant for a specialized event like an in-theater concert film — even if Taylor Swift’s power is anything but niche.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film tickets were priced at $19.89 and $13.13 for clear references to her followers, however EnTelligence indicates the actual market average for movie tickets at $20.82 for general admission, $14.16 for a child’s ticket, and $14.42 for seniors.

AMC Theatres released the film in North America and Europe with the assistance of many sub-distributors. According to AMC, the concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour has already grossed over $100 million in global advance ticket sales as of last week, however the exhibitor has not announced the actual number of venues.
