Warner Music has bought E-Positive, an artist management and live events business based in India.

Warner says the deal makes it stronger in the market and gives its artists the chance to “tap into new expertise in brand partnerships and live events.”

In India, Warner Music Group has been making a lot of noise for the past three years.

After starting Warner Music India (WMI) in March 2020, the company has made deals with Tips Music, a company that specializes in Bollywood music, and Sky Digital India, a company that specializes in Punjabi music, to distribute their music.

Along with Jjust Music in April 2022, Warner also made deals with Indian pop star Armaan Malik in February 2022 and JetSynthesys in September 2021.

In February, the big company bought most of the shares in Divo, an Indian digital media and music company.

Now, WMG bought E-Positive, which is home to Darshan Raval. In a news release, WMG said that Raval “is one of the top five most streamed artists in India and the fastest growing artists in the region, having quadrupled his daily streams in the last 12 months.”

Raval has put out music in Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Bengali, among other languages. He is now going to sign with Warner Music.

His songs have been streamed more than nine billion times across all platforms. Each month, more than 43 million people listen to him on DSPs, and he has 17 million Instagram fans.

Warner says that E-Positive will go on as a separate business, with founder and CEO Naushad Khan in charge.

Khan is a well-known figure in India’s live theater business; he has promoted more than 15,000 shows in the country.

In the years since starting E-Positive, he has also helped a lot of artists with their jobs. For example, he found Raval and helped him become a star.

“I CARVED THE JOURNEY OF EVERYONE OF MY ARTISTS AND WORKED ON BUILDING A LEGACY FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS.” NAUSHAD KHAN, BEING POSITIVE

Naushad Khan said, “I’ve been building a legacy for over 10 years and have carved out the path of each of my artists.” I’m happy that Warner Music India has become our new home.

Jay Mehta works for Warner Music India.

Warner Music India’s Managing Director, Jay Mehta, said, “Naushad has done an amazing job of making E-Positive a leading management company. His knowledge of brand partnerships and the live sector will be very helpful to us at Warner Music India.”

“And it’s an honor to have such a great artist as Darshan Raval join the Warner Music family around the world.” He is a real star, and we think he can become a mainstay on the world stage.

“This deal makes our goal to become the best place for artists in India even stronger, and adding an artist like Darshan to our roster really shows our intent.”

WARNER MUSIC AND ALFONSO PEREZ SOTO

Warner Music’s President of Emerging Markets, Alfonso Perez Soto, said, “This deal makes our goal of becoming the best place for artists in India even stronger. Adding an artist like Darshan to our roster is a real statement of intent.”

“Darshan and the rest of the E-Positive roster will be able to use Warner Music’s global network to connect with more people around the world.”

By adding Naushad’s experience and skills to Warner Music, this deal helps us take our 360-degree service for artists to the next level. With our better set of services, our artists will be able to reach people outside of India and help spread Indian culture around the world.
