An Apple expert may have discovered why so many iPhone 15 devices are overheating.

The brand new smartphone has already hit shelves around the world, but there have already been reports of problems with it.

People aren’t happy that their costly phones are overheating, especially since the base version costs an eye-watering $799.

But what is the root cause?

It turns out that it could be due to the newly adapted charging ports, since after years of spending money on lightning cables, Apple finally dropped their one-of-a-kind charging device in favor of the more widely used USB-C port.

Even better, the port is reported to be capable of charging your AirPods and Apple Watch from the battery of your phone. Genius.

However, several retailers have advised customers not to charge their new iPhone 15s with existing Android USB-C adapters, as this may cause the device to overheat.

This is due to the fact that USB-C cables that come with Android handsets or are specifically built for that sort of mobile device.

In other news, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the phone’s lightweight structure is to blame for the overheating problems.

He wrote on Medium: “My survey indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro series overheating issues are unrelated to TSMC’s advanced 3nm node.”

Kuo obtained his conclusions by polling his production line sources.

He continued: “The primary cause is more likely the compromises made in the thermal system design to achieve a lighter weight, such as the reduced heat dissipation area and the use of a titanium frame, which negatively impacts thermal efficiency.”

According to Kuo, Apple would fix the technology issue “through software updates,” but changes may not be achieved until the company “lowers processor performance.”

Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, Kaiann Drance, has previously commended the phone’s compactness.

“It is like everything you love and depend on, your device, your phototaking, your memory capturing, and now it’s a powerhouse game console, but one that is in your pocket that you can take anywhere,” she stated to Pocket Tactics.

“I mean, it’s remarkable how it all comes together.”

Another concern leveled at the new iPhone 15 is its durability.

In a video of the device being tested, it was discovered that when pressure was put to it, a big crack occurred across its panel. The phone still works properly, but the physical damage is extensive.

While most users aren’t going to hurl their phone out the window of a 12-story building, the gadget should be able to withstand the bumps and tumbles that everyday life can bring.
