The coroner’s office confirmed that Angus Cloud died as a result of an accidental overdose.

“Angus Cloud died from a lethal combination of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and more, in what is ruled as an accidental overdose,” an Alameda County Coroner representative told Entertainment Tonight.

“Angus suffered from acute intoxication as a result of the combination of drugs, which also included benzodiazepine.”

On July 31, the Euphoria actor died at his home in Oakland, California.

At the time, his family told TMZ, “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today.” Angus was special to all of us in so many ways as an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son.

“He buried his father last week and struggled greatly with this loss.”

“The only solace we have is that Angus has been reunited with his father, who was his best friend.”

“Angus was open about his struggle with mental health, and we hope that his death will serve as a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this alone in silence.”

“We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud,” HBO said in a statement following the actor’s death. He was a huge talent and a cherished member of the HBO and Euphoria families. During this sad time, we express our heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.”

The 25-year-old was born in Oakland to Irish parents and had planned to move to Ireland before entering the world of cinema and television.

Cloud had studied set-building and lighting at Oakland School of Art and was working at a diner in New York City when Jennifer Venditti, Euphoria casting director, approached him for the role of Fez.

Cloud was on the verge of relocating his entire life to Ireland, where the majority of his family lives, when Venditti intervened. Despite this, he was initially skeptical.

“She asked if I’d be interested in doing an audition, but she didn’t specify what it was for,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “I assumed it was some sort of ruse.”

However, it all worked out in the end, with Cloud earning the role of Fez in the Drake-produced sitcom.

Following his death, tributes poured in for the actor, with co-star Zendaya writing on Instagram, “I’m so grateful I got to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or to hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking about it).”

“I know people often say about people they love, ‘they could light up any room they entered,’ but let me tell you, he was the best at it.” That’s how I’d like to remember him.

“For all of the unending light, love, and joy he always managed to bring us.” “I’ll treasure every moment.”
