Tory Lanez has begun his prison sentence after a lengthy and public trial stemming from an incident in 2020 in which he shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot. He was sentenced last month after being found guilty late last year.

In court, they agreed on a 10-year sentence, which sparked much debate online and among other rappers. Tory was finally scheduled to begin his 10-year term after both his appeal and his bond hearing were denied.

That process began Wednesday with his official transfer to North Kern State Prison. The rapper, real name Daystar Peterson, is anticipated to serve the majority of his time in prison, and as part of that move, he was compelled to take yet another mugshot. Unsurprisingly, he appears dissatisfied with his move to the new California prison in the photograph. Take a look at the mugshot below.

Tory Lanez shared what could be his final Instagram post for a while earlier this month. He took use of the occasion to pay respect to a buddy named Alexa, who reportedly inspired much of his 2021 album Alone At Prom. “It hurts even more that I was unable to say my final goodbyes at your Funeral Service, but I promise to carry on your legacy.” You meant a lot to a lot of people. “May your imprint on the world be stamped forever as you Rest in Paradise,” his touching caption read.

According to another report published after the trial, Tory was offered a plea bargain. In exchange for admitting guilty, he would have only served four years in prison. Instead, he declined the offer and elected to fight the case, which resulted in his 10-year imprisonment.
