Taylor Swift came out in New York City on September 8 wearing a teardrop-shaped pendant set with an opal, which happens to be the birthstone of the football-playing Libra.
Swift paired Foundrae’s Forever & Always a Pair Pendant ($1,150) — which, sure, shares a name with a popular “Fearless” single — with the same jeweler’s Sister Hook Heavy Belcher Chain Choker ($6,365); according to Foundrae’s website, the pendant “represents love.”

Taylor Swift is supposedly ‘hanging out’ with NFL player Travis Kelce. Swift’s choice of charm was not lost on her followers.
“Kelce is a libra and opal is our birthstone,” one Swiftie noted in response to @taylorswiftstyled’s Instagram picture featuring the star’s jewelry; “I’ve put my makeup on and I’m listening,” another said.

“despite the fact that I believe the Kelce’s [sic] started the dating rumor in order to promote their documentary… “Opal is the birthstone for October, and Travis was born in October,” another person pointed out.
Swift, a Sagittarius, has long been a fan of opals; she’s worn a number of items with the iridescent gemstone both on and off the red carpet, and has even written songs about it. (“Your opal eyes are all I wish to see,” from the “Evermore” song “Ivy.”)
“When I was being bullied at school, my mom used to take me to TJ Maxx after school to look at the opal jewelry,” she told Us Weekly in 2016. “I thought opals were lovely, and it made me feel better.” We never bought them, only looked at them.”

The Messenger reported earlier this month that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end had been “quietly hanging out” with Swift for several weeks; while neither party’s representatives have commented on the rumors, NFL announcers, Barstool Sports bigwig Dave Portnoy, and even Travis’ brother, Jason, have chimed in.
“Ever since [Travis’ 2016 dating show] ‘Catching Kelce,’ everybody has been infatuated with Travis’ love life,” Jason said last week on “Thursday Night Football” with Tony Gonzalez.
“I’m not sure what’s going on there. I know Trav is having a good time… We’ll see what happens with whomever he eventually marries.”
Travis disclosed to Jason on an edition of the duo’s “New Heights” podcast in July that he tried and failed to offer Swift his phone number — in the form of a beaded friendship bracelet, no less — during one of her Eras Tour gigs.
Perhaps he should have given her one with opals instead.
