Selena Gomez’s response to Chris Brown’s MTV Video Music Award (VMA) nomination has gone viral.

The singer of “Single Soon” didn’t hold back when the star’s name was announced for his nomination today.

Chlöe and Brown’s song “How Does it Feel” is nominated for Best R&B Video Music Video.

And when Gomez heard the rapper’s name, she didn’t seem all that enthused.

The “Single Soon” displays complete disinterest in the viral video, as evidenced by her nose-turning and scrunching of her face, in contrast to her joyful grins and applause for the other candidates this evening.

After physically attacking Rihanna in 2009, Brown was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats.

The singer of “Diamonds” was admitted to the hospital with apparent facial injuries as a result of her ex-boyfriend.

In addition to completing community service and counseling related to domestic abuse, Rihanna eventually obtained a restraining order against him.

Women have accused Brown of assaulting them several times over the years.

Although the reason behind Gomez’s outburst in response to Brown’s name remains unclear, he is frequently at the focus of controversy.

In X, a user commented, “I would have responded in the same manner. Chris Brown ought not to be qualified for any honors.

Say it again: “Exactly, she’s so real.”

Others remarked, “As she should,” and “She represents all of us.”

In addition, one said, “Queen, I love her.”

Gomez was allegedly acting in a “disrespectful” manner, though.

After receiving an incredible six nominations for her song “Shirt,” SZA ultimately took home the trophy.

Currently holding the second-most nominations after Taylor Swift, who has won the VMAs for both Song of the Year and Best Pop thus far with her single “Anti-Hero,” is her.

Gomez and Rema are up for Oscars tonight for their song “Calm Down.”
