Apple has announced that the September 12 will be the day they reveal the iPhone 15 lineup.

The “special event,” which is one of the most anticipated releases of Apple’s flagship smartphone, will be broadcast live on the company’s website at 10 a.m. Pacific time (9 p.m. UAE time).

The invitation had the standard one-liner with a slightly altered Apple logo. The event this year will be called “Wonderlust,” and the logo is expected to be blue, silver, and metallic to match the rumored color scheme of the next generation of iPhones.

Launching in the first or second week of September is when most people expected Apple to do it.

Also, next week Berlin will host IFA, Europe’s largest consumer electronics exhibition, and in the third week of September, Las Vegas will host Oracle’s CloudWorld.

As is customary for Apple, the new iPhones will go on sale on September 22, two weeks after their introduction.

With the launching of the iPhone 5, ten years ago, Apple introduced its proprietary Lightning technology, which has been used ever since. The major change predicted in this year’s iPhone line-up is the switch to a USB-C port.

The EU’s proposal for a universal charger for technological products in September 2021 fueled rumors that Apple might adopt USB-C ports.

In addition to avoiding legal problems, especially with the EU, the migration to USB-C could be motivated by quicker transmission speeds and environmental considerations.

Apple has reportedly switched all of its iPads to USB-C, including the upcoming AirPods, which are likely to be unveiled alongside the iPhone 15 on September 12.

We anticipate the introduction of four new iPhones this year: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The notch was replaced by a dynamic digital island in the iPhone 14 Pro, and this feature is expected to roll out to the rest of the iPhone lineup.

The A17 Bionic chip is slated to power the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, while the A16 Bionic will be carried over from the iPhone 14 Pro.

Bezels on the iPhone 15 are said to be a record-setting 1.5mm thin, thanks to Apple employing the same bezel-slimming technology used on the Apple Watch.

It has also been speculated that, like some Android phones do, Apple intends to replace the mute switch with a more flexible button that can be set to do a variety of functions depending on the user’s needs.

Noted Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the only device to use a periscope lens, which, unlike software-powered digital zoom, can physically enlarge an image without distorting the quality.

iOS 17, which has a number of new and improved security features, is scheduled to be released simultaneously with the new iPhones.

Additionally, a new Apple Watch with minor changes is likely before the rumored major update in 2024.
