A man listed Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly as targets after shooting and killing three Black individuals at a business in Jacksonville, Florida, over the weekend.

Ryan Palmeter, 21, murdered two males, Anolt Joseph “AJ” Laguerre Jr (19) and Jerrald Gallion (29), as well as one woman, Angela Michelle Carr (52), at a Dollar General on Saturday (August 26), before killing himself.

In racist and homophobic diatribes, the shooter professed his wish to kill both Eminem and MGK in papers reviewed by Rolling Stone.

“Eminem (aka Marshall Mathers, aka Slim Shady aka Ken Keniff, aka the white guy from D12): Stared the abyss (being n-ggerdly) and the abyss stared back (becoming a n),” he wrote in one passage. “Walks the edge of n lover and honorary n*

“I dropped him not because his new material was bad, but because the lyrics were gay annoying liberal shit.” Eminem (aka Marshall Mathers, aka Slim Shady, aka Ken Keniff, aka the white guy from D12) is a qualified target for Total N-gger Death, and he is to be killed on sight.”

Palmeter then brought up Machine Gun Kelly, implying that he was once close enough to shoot the rapper.

“Colson Baker (aka Machine Gun Kelly): Honorable n-gger,” he captioned the post. “To be shot and killed on sight like Eminem because I didn’t get a shot at him up in Ohio.”

During a briefing call with law enforcement and community leaders on Monday (August 28), FBI Director Christopher Wray referenced the shooter’s writings.

He stated that the inquiry “reveals the perpetrator of Saturday’s attack through his own writings, references he made, and through his actions, making clear his intentions, actions, motivations, and hatred.”

Palmeter allegedly entered a Jacksonville Dollar General wearing a tactical vest and equipped with a revolver and an AR-15 rifle with swastika markings.

Authorities stated he had previously stopped at a Family Dollar shop about a mile distant from the scene of the shooting. He was also spotted on the campus of Edward Waters University, a historically Black college.

“The shooter used multiple electronic devices with a significant amount of data,” Sherri Onks, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Jacksonville office, said during a conference call on Monday.

“So far, we have identified multiple writings that demonstrate hatred for African Americans and belief in Black people’s inferiority.” There is also evidence that he held anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-Semitic complaints.”

She added that the shooter’s weaponry and body armor “had references to previous mass shootings” and that he sought to motivate others to carry out similar assaults.
