Bryan Randall, Sandra Bullock’s late boyfriend, shut off connection with one of his close friends in the months preceding up to his death as he battled ALS in secret.

“I was wondering what had happened to him because I hadn’t heard from him in over a year,” said his longtime friend Mia St. John to the US Sun on Tuesday.

“And so I thought, ‘Well, that’s really weird.'”

The retired boxer, 56, said she contacted Randall in the last year but received no answer.

“It’s been a long time, and I was thinking to myself, ‘God, I hope he’s OK.'” “I haven’t heard anything from him,” she added. “Now it all makes sense.”

St. John said she was in “complete shock” after Randall’s family announced his death on Monday.

For numerous years, the former Playboy cover model had been friends with the photographer. He even delivered the eulogy at the funeral of her son Julian, who committed suicide in November 2014.

“I remember him giving a eulogy at my son’s funeral, and it was very touching.” “He was very close to my son,” stated St. John.

Randall was also romantically involved with her daughter, Paris St. John, from 2012 to 2015. Following their divorce, the former athlete stated that she maintained contact with her daughter’s ex.

When she didn’t hear from Randall on holidays or anniversaries, the taekwondo champion suspected something was wrong.

“He never forgot a holiday, Paris’ birthday, the anniversary of my son’s death — things like that,” she explained.

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Randall “passed away peacefully” at the age of 57 following a “private” three-year fight with ALS, a rare neurological illness that destroys the brain’s nerve cells and the spinal cord.

“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” the statement said in part.

The note continued with the family requesting “privacy to grieve and come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”

Sandra Bullock and Bryan Randall took Laila Bullock to a children’s theater performance in 2018.

Gesine Bullock-Prado, Bullock’s sister, then lauded the actress for being a “amazing” nurse to her beau in his dying years.

“ALS is a cruel disease, but there is some comfort in knowing he had the best caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home,” she posted on Instagram Monday. “Rest in peace, Bryan.”

Bullock, 59, and Randall first met when he photographed her son Louis’ birthday celebration in January 2015.

Sandra Bullock will appear at the premiere of “The Unforgivable” in 2021.

They began dating a few months later and made their red carpet debut in October of that year at the premiere of Bullock’s film “Our Brand Is Crisis.”
