Millions of people will recognize Jamie Waylett as a member of Draco Malfoy’s entourage in Harry Potter, but the Vincent Crabbe actor now lives a completely different life after doing time in prison.

Waylett, now 34, debuted in the first Harry Potter film, The Philosopher’s Stone, alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, and remained in the franchise for the next five films.

Waylett was recognized around the world as the Crabbe to Josh Herdman’s Goyle, but he lost his spot in the Wizarding World in 2009, after he was caught cultivating cannabis in his home.

Waylett was sentenced to community service, but was sentenced to two years in prison in 2012 after being found guilty of violent disorder for his role in the London riots.

While his former Harry Potter co-stars finished the series and moved on to new roles, Waylett left his experience on the big screen behind him when he was imprisoned.

He no longer resembles the Slytherin he once was, and he has discovered a new source of income by creating videos for the celebrity website Cameo.

The site allows fans to pay for personalized movies created by celebrities, and Waylett’s page says, “What’s up people, it’s your boy Jamie Waylett.” I portrayed Vincent Crabbe in the first six Harry Potter films, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to send a unique message to the friends and loved ones in your life.

“That’s all from me; I hope to hear from you.” “I’m a Slytherin for life.”

The actor now sports a full beard and a face tattoo of stars above his brow. It’s hardly the Crabbe appearance Harry Potter fans are used to seeing, but he couldn’t stay a Hogwarts student forever.

Waylett has received appreciation for his Cameo designs, with one Cameo buyer commenting, “I’ve been having wonderful fun at Cameo this last year. I had some amazing comments, but one of my favorites has to be from Jamie Waylett. He appears to be a wonderful and caring man. In Harry Potter, he played Vincent Crabbe.”

“Jamie Waylett is insanely talented. “We have a lot of respect for the man,” they added.

While Waylett has been delighting fans on Cameo, his erstwhile on-screen best friend Herdman has been working on his own projects, including appearances on the TV shows The Man Who Fell To Earth and White House Farm.
