James Blunt is working on a new record.
On Tuesday, the 49-year-old singer-songwriter revealed his seventh studio album, Who We Used to Be, and released the first track, “Beside You,”
“I’m having a bad hair day.” But it’s a good music day! My new single ‘Beside You’ was released today, and my new album ‘Who We Used to Be’ will be released in October!” Blunt sent a message on Instagram.
Blunt described “Beside You” in a statement as “a bit of a celebration.”

“An upbeat banger about finally finding the one you’ve been looking for your entire life,” he explained.
Blunt married Sofia Wellesley in September 2014, and the couple has two sons.
Blunt’s first new music album since Once Upon a Mind, releasing in 2019, will be Who We Used to Be. In November 2021, he published the greatest hits album The Stars Beneath My Feet.
