Method Man’s career in the hip-hop underground is one to remember. He has done it all, from being a vital member of the Wu-Tang Clan to establishing a successful solo career.

However, there are many celebrities from various walks of life that struggle with their personal health. For good reason, the majority of them are kept under lock and key. But, in this situation, Method Man wants to be open about his long journey to feeling well.

Ludacris, Common, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, and Wiz Khalifa were all included in this piece. On August 1, Method Man spoke with Men’s Health and wanted to be as candid as possible. Specifically focused on the most important period of his career, the Wu-Tang Clan years, in the 1990s and early 2000s. Method Man’s meteoric ascent to stardom was so overwhelming at the time that he did not take it as seriously as he should have. “It went from this childhood joy to this euphoric feeling of celebrity to feeling inadequate and inadequate and not good enough,” he explained.

What drew Method? Man’s confidence and happiness were growing dependent on what he could control. “What do I have control over?” That’s exactly what I did; I then seized control. “I stopped valuing other people’s opinions and became my biggest fan instead of my biggest critic,” he added. Other treatments he tried included late-night gym workouts to help with his 18-month battle with insomnia. Overall, he is happier, saying, “Show that you love yourself.” All I’ve been doing is that. People are only seeing happiness now.”

Why do you believe so many celebrities suffer from mental illness? What are your thoughts on Method Man and how he dealt with difficult events during his career? We’d love to hear what you have to say in the comments area.
