Pete Davidson Was Sentenced To Community Service For Careless Driving

Pete Davidson has been sentenced to 50 hours of community service for careless driving.

After slamming a car into a Beverly Hills home in March, the former Saturday Night Live comedian was charged with one count of misdemeanor careless driving in June.

Davidson, according to TMZ, has entered an 18-month diversion program without pleading guilty or no contest to the charge.

As part of the program, the 28-year-old must perform 50 hours of community service, 12 hours of traffic school, and be lectured on the consequences of reckless driving at a morgue or hospital. He must also make amends and follow all laws.

On Monday, a representative for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office told Page Six that if Davidson met those terms, no criminal charges would be filed against him.

The King of Staten Island actor has been granted permission to complete community service hours at the New York City Fire Department, where his fireman father Scott worked before dying in the 9/11 attacks in 2001.

A department spokeswoman stated that Davidson would be welcomed with open arms if he chose to complete his service there.

“As the son of a 9/11 hero, we would be delighted to provide Mr. Davidson with the opportunity to complete his mandatory community service,” they stated.

On March 6, the comedian was driving a Mercedes-Benz when it jumped a curb, hit a fire hydrant, and skidded over a front lawn before collapsing into the corner of a home.

Davidson and his passenger, actress Chase Sui Wonders, were both unhurt. However, the incident caused damage to both the house and the car.
