Collin Gosselin has said that his mother, Kate Gosselin, committed him to a mental facility in order to quiet him about her alleged violent behavior.

“I was starting to tell my teachers that, you know, my mother was… can I use the word abusive or is that not allowed on air?” “Jon & Kate Plus 8: Family Circus,” the now-19-year-old claimed in a new episode of Vice TV’s “The Dark Side of the 2000s” dubbed “Jon & Kate Plus 8: Family Circus.”

When a producer questioned Collin whether he was trying to indicate his mother was abusive to him, he replied, “Well, yeah, that’s kind of why she sent me away.”

“I was starting to tell people what was going on at home and, you know, she caught wind of that and had to put me somewhere where I wouldn’t be able to get the secrets out,” the reality star went on to say.

The matriarch, who rose to fame on TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8” with ex-husband Jon Gosselin, their sextuplets Collin, Leah, Hannah, Alexis, Aaden, and Joel, and twins Mady and Cara, has previously rejected any abuse allegations.

In 2016, she told “Good Morning America” that she had been “investigated many times” and that any allegations that she harmed her children were “always unfounded.”

Collin was 12 years old when Kate, 48, admitted him to Fairmount Behavioral Health Institute, a mental institution in Philadelphia.

At the time, the reality star informed the media that she did so because her son had “special needs.”

“[There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things,” she previously told People.

“This has been a long-standing struggle for us, and I’ve dealt with it on my own.” In this, I’ve felt extremely alone. By the same token, it has not only affected me or him; our entire family has been affected.”

Hannah, who also appeared in Vice TV’s documentary with Collin, backed up her brother’s assertions that their mother treated him differently than the other kids.

“He would be separated from us,” she stated during the show. “Like, he wouldn’t be able to come outside and play with us.” He ate dinner at various times than we did.”

Jon, who divorced Kate in 2009, claimed that he didn’t know where his son was because he didn’t have legal custody of his children at the time.

Collin, on the other hand, sent him a handwritten letter with crayons in 2018, pleading with his father to release him from Fairmount Behavioral Health Institute.

“Being in an institution took a mental toll on me,” the teen told Vice TV. “It was a very, very dark place.” I only had myself. I didn’t have any other options. I have no one to lean on. It was terrifying. I was perplexed. “I was disoriented.”

Jon sought for legal and physical custody of Collin in November 2018, which was finally granted to the dad along with Hannah’s.

Collin, however, suddenly came to social media in September 2020 to report that his father had been “beating” him, prompting Berks County Child & Youth Services to launch an inquiry.

“My father is a liar.” “He beat me up yesterday and didn’t think anything of it, he punched me in the face and gave me a swollen nose and I started bleeding,” the then-16-year-old said in the since-deleted post.

“After I was on the floor, he continued to kick me in the ribs.” “He’s a liar.”

Jon’s representative told E! News at the time, “No charges have been filed against him, and there is no ongoing CYS investigation.”

“Collin has been through a lot.” Jon is a kind father who has worked tirelessly to ensure that his son receives the assistance and support he requires.”

According to Berks County District Attorney John Adams, “no charges or citations have been filed as a result of that incident.”

Collin appears to have remained close to his father while alienated from his mother and six of his siblings – with the exception of Hannah.

“I want to respect their time and space, as well as how they feel about everything, so I’m simply waiting for the day when they reach out… “I’d rather just let them do it on their own terms,” he said of his brothers and sisters in late 2022 to Entertainment Tonight.

Collin also told the source that same month that he would be open to reconciling with Kate, saying, “It would be ideal.” It’s a shame we didn’t have a relationship. “I believe every son desires a relationship with his mother.”
