It has been revealed that the Titanic submersible was using Elon Musk’s satellites.

A massive search campaign has been begun, with US and Canadian rescuers racing against the clock to find the lost submersible, which went missing on Sunday (18 June) about 435 miles (700 kilometers) south of Newfoundland, Canada.

The Titan is a miniature submersible vessel that can carry five people and is operated by OceanGate Expeditions, which has confirmed that it employs Elon Musk’s Starlink wifi for communications at sea.

Rear Admiral John Mauger stated at a press conference on Monday, June 19, that the US Coast Guard is working “as hard as possible” to locate the submarine.

“A frantic marine search is underway for a missing tourist submersible that has not been seen since it launched to take five people to the Titanic wreckage yesterday morning,” he added, adding that the Coast Guard was notified of its disappearance on Sunday, June 18 afternoon.

“We are working as hard as we can, bringing all assets to bear in the search for the submersible.”

“We immediately mobilized assets to search the surface of the water, from the air, and to detect any vessels under the water.” We conducted a thorough search to locate these individuals.”

The submersible has five seats, including a pilot and a “content expert,” as well as three paying customers.

According to his stepson, British billionaire Hamish Harding is one of those paying consumers. A father and boy from the United Kingdom were also aboard the lost Titanic submarine, according to their relatives.

Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his son Sulaiman Dawood, 19, were on the missing sailboat, and their families have issued a statement.

“Our son Shahzada Dawood and his son, Suleman, had embarked on a journey to visit the Titanic’s remnants in the Atlantic Ocean,” Shahzada Dawood’s family claimed.

“As of now, contact with their submersible craft has been lost, and there is limited information available.”

“We are grateful for our colleagues’ and friends’ concern and would like to ask everyone to pray for their safety while granting the family privacy at this time.”

OceanGate has established that the lost submersible was communicating at sea using Musk’s Starlink satellites.

“Despite being in the middle of the North Atlantic, we have the internet connection we need to make our #Titanic dive operations a success – thank you@Starlink!” the business tweeted earlier this month (1 June).
