Quincy Jones was rushed to the hospital over the weekend after experiencing an allergic reaction to something he ate.
On Saturday afternoon, paramedics were called to the We Are the World producer’s house before Quincy, 90, was transferred to the hospital.
A spokesman for the record producer and composer told TMZ in a statement on Sunday that Quincy had a negative response to some food he ate, so he dialed 911 for assistance.
According to the spokesman, Quincy never lost consciousness during the incident and was in “great spirits” when doctors gave him the all-clear and released him from the hospital.
Quincy had previously suffered a brain aneurysm in 1974, necessitating two surgery that left the producer with six steel pins in his head.
In his 2018 documentary Quincy, he revealed, “I actually had two brain aneurysms.” “I guess I would classify myself as having some experience with brain trauma.” My mother also suffered from mental illness.”
In 2015, he was also admitted to the hospital for chest pain and shortness of breath.
