During the drama, Katy Perry has denied bullying an American Idol competitor.

If you follow Perry, you know the ‘Roar’ singer has been in the news a lot lately.

The pop star was accused of’mom-shaming’ an American Idol participant earlier this year.

Perry pretended to lie down on the judge’s table after 25-year-old Sara Beth Liebe revealed she is a mother-of-three during the auditions.

“If Katy lays on the table, I think I’m going to pass out,” Liebe said. Perry answered, “Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much!”

Liebe called Perry’s remarks ‘hurtful’ and ’embarrassing’ in a now-deleted TikTok.

After informing Nutsa Buzaladze she wanted less glitter in her next performance, Perry was booed for the first time on American Idol.

In an interview on The View, Perry acknowledged the season’s “intense” moments but did not address the bullying.

One American Idol competitor wants Perry to stay despite speculations she may leave the competition due to criticism.

Oliver Steele, an American Idol season 21 top eight contestant, has defended Perry on Instagram.

“I’ve seen a lot of rumors going around the internet about Katy Perry possibly leaving Idol, and I don’t necessarily know what’s true and what’s not,” he wrote.

I know @katyperry. Katy never shames or bullies.”

Added that Perry helped him build confidence on the show.

“I was nervous at my audition, Hollywood week, and throughout the competition,” he said.

“Katy can sense what’s holding you back as well as your emotional state.

“I love all the judges, but Katy always seemed to be able to look into my soul and tell exactly what was troubling me, or what I was struggling with.”

“I dunno if you’ll see this, but I hope you stay on American Idol,” Steele wrote.

You’re an inspiring teacher. You gave me self-confidence. Thanks for everything.”
