Sam Smith and Madonna have disclosed information regarding their upcoming joint project.

The musical artists Sam Smith and Madonna have officially announced the forthcoming release of their latest collaborative track, entitled Vulgar.

On Wednesday, Madonna shared a photograph on Instagram that showcased the initials of both artists, S&M, along with a caption that read “VULGAR…………….. new song out Friday June 9th @samsmith.”

The formal declaration ensues a series of online insinuations from Smith over the course of several weeks. On May 24th, the 31-year-old musician known for their hit song “Unholy” and preference for they/them pronouns hinted at a collaboration through the sharing of an audio clip on their social media. The clip featured both artists repeatedly vocalizing their names as “Sam and Madonna.”

Subsequently, Sam disseminated an image on the social media platform Twitter, employing a similar aesthetic to the prior teaser, and insinuated the provision of a clandestine glimpse of the collaborative effort during their live exhibition in Manchester on the 24th of May. Nonetheless, the vocalist of the band Fire on Fire was compelled to curtail the performance owing to an ailment and consequently did not execute the aforementioned song.

At present, Madonna, who is 64 years old, is making arrangements for her forthcoming Celebration Tour. The tour is scheduled to commence in Vancouver in July and will feature the Material Girl performing her chart-topping songs from the past four decades.

The release date for Vulgar is scheduled for the 9th of June.
