The Golden State Warriors are entering a new era, as Bob Myers has announced his resignation as president and general manager.

Myers said in a statement to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, “It’s just time.”

Myers has played a key role in the development of championship Warriors teams over the last decade.

Speaking on the likelihood of Myers leaving, Draymond Green revealed their friendship on his podcast after losing in the playoffs.

“That stinks, because Bob is one of the guys I rode in with, that I’ve been on this journey with for 11 years, and we’ve all been plugging away each and every year trying to deliver championships,” Green told NBC Sports. “That’s what drives us, that’s why we’re all here.” The notion that he might not be here bothers me. It’s infuriating.

“First and foremost, I developed a connection, a relationship with Bob Myers that, even if he is gone, when I am gone, both of us are no longer here… That is a relationship I have developed that will last the rest of my life. Someone I can confide in and trust. And knowing that they might not be here stinks. That stings because I’ve enjoyed going to work with him every day for the previous 11 years and learning from him.”

Green continued, “I think in life we all need people who hold us accountable, and he holds me accountable at a totally different standard.”
