Martha Stewart is demonstrating that age is only a number… the 81-year-old entrepreneur is gracing the cover of this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, making her the oldest model to ever get the accolade!!
On Monday, S.I. unveiled the special cover, which depicted the best-selling author and TV personality in a white one-piece halter bathing suit in the Dominican Republic.
Stewart justified her decision to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, saying, “When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a Sports Illustrated cover,” Stewart remarked.
“And I don’t think much about age, but I thought this was kind of historic.”
Stewart, who will be 82 in August, stated that she wanted to do the SI Swimsuit issue to show that you can look and feel wonderful at any age.
“Age is not a determining factor in friendship or success; what people do, how people think, how people act, that’s what matters, not your age,” Martha added.
Stewart was one of four women chosen to feature on the cover, joining Megan Fox, Kim Petras, and SI Swimsuit veteran Brooks Nader.
Stewart has already appeared for various firms, including Chanel, and this is not her first modeling engagement.
