Tom Cruise is reportedly interested in courting Shakira in what may be a new romance, but her fans are reacting hilariously to the news… GET THE HELL OUT!!!
Insiders believe Tom is “extremely interested in pursuing” her, according to Page Six, after they met paths Sunday at Formula One’s Miami Grand Prix… where they were pictured looking cheery, not to mention conversing a lot.
According to the outlet, they had some chemistry, so it appears they hit it off… enough for him to give her flowers after the encounter, which he apparently did.
Of course, both are currently single and unattached… notably Shakira, who recently ended her long-term relationship with soccer star Gerard Pique, who cheated on her with a younger, less-famous lady… whom he is currently dating.
Not only that, but Tom and Shakira are not that old – she is 46 and he is 60 – and they are both in the upper echelons of celebrity. Furthermore, as PS points out, she is not taller than him.
On paper, you would think they would make a terrific couple, but Twitter does not think so… and they are letting everyone know. Users are screaming into the void in the hopes that Shakira may hear them. The message is, Shak, do not get mixed up with this person.
“SHAKIRA!” commented one Twitter user. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION! He is TRYING TO GET YOU INTO SCIENCE! DO NOT GO ON A DATE WITH HIM! PLEASE PAY ATTENTION! SHAKIRA!!” “‘Get away from her’ and’stay away from her’ trending because there are reports Tom Cruise wants to date Shakira is sending me,” said another. Obviously, referring to the general outrage.
Why they do not want her to date Tom appears to be related to his previous relationships as well as his affiliation with Scientology. Bird app users believe that those two traits have traditionally not worked well together… especially when he is associated with high-profile ladies.
His ex-wife Nicole Kidman’s memorable reaction to the finalization of her divorce from Tom in 2001 comes to mind… she was seen cheering outside of a law office, which was telling.
With that said, we believe that mocking Tom in this manner is unfair to him… and possibly to Shakira as well. They are both mature, and they are presumably up to speed on each other’s reps. So, if Shakira wants to test the Cruise waters, she should.
