It’s G-Eazy again. Rapper from the Bay Area has two new tracks out: “Tulips & Roses” and an appearance on Vic Mensa’s “$wish.” He explained how JAY-Z influenced him in an interview with Billboard.

G-Eazy claims that when he was a teenager, he first developed an interest in rap music by listening to local legends like Too $hort, Mac Dre, and E-40. He dove into JAY-Z’s The Black Album, and something lit.

“If we’re going to do this, I want to chase him, I thought. That’s what I want to strive for,” G-Eazy added. If I could turn back the clock and tell the 14-year-old me that we are doing this or that I had performed in these arenas, that would be unimaginable.
