Hailey Bieber serves as a reminder that not everything we see on Instagram represents reality, and that everyone is secretly experiencing something.

The model stated, “I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time,” in an emotional Instagram Story message that was posted this morning. However, since 2023 began, I have experienced some of the saddest and toughest events of my adult life, and to put it mildly, my mind and emotions have been unstable.

Bieber did not elaborate on the incidents she was alluding to, but she wrote this message just a few weeks after losing thousands of social media fans over rumors that she had harassed her husband Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. (Bieber and Gomez have since defended each other on Instagram, asking fans to stop pushing the false narrative.)

The founder of Rhode added that she is aware that “so many other people feel the same way I do,” and she hopes that they will realize they are not alone.

That being said, let’s continue to stand behind our friends, family, and complete strangers, added Bieber. “Let’s just be there for each other. Even when it’s difficult, let’s continue to be there for each other. Together, we’re better.
