Hugh Jackman was persuaded to reprise his role as Wolverine in “Deadpool 3” by Ryan Reynolds.

In the forthcoming superhero blockbuster, the 54-year-old actor will reprise his role as Logan/Wolverine. Ryan talked about how he was anxious to include the ‘X-Men’ character in the ‘Deadpool’ series.

We’ve wanted this for decades, and it’s strangely the ideal time, he told ET Canada.

“I never gave up (trying to get him to come back as Wolverine). Over the years, I’ve been bugging him like a gnat. As much as I believe in effort, chance, and all those mythical intersections, I also believe in timing. The key is timing. I believe he was prepared. I believe he was elated.

Hugh assured fans that his debut in “Deadpool 3” will not change the previous “X-Men” timeline, while Reynolds assured viewers that the MCU-set film will offer a “divergence” from the actor’s prior performances as the clawed character.

“And what we pitched him” the “Free Guy” actor said, “was enough of a departure from the character he knows and the character he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something he’s really excited to do.”

As many believe the 2017 film “Logan” to be the ideal portrayal of the character, Jackman previously stated that he would only return as Wolverine if the events of the previous film were not changed.

“It’s all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines,” he said in an interview with SiriusXM.

Now that we know it’s science, we can go back. As a result, I won’t have to alter the timeline of “Logan,” which was significant to me. And, I believe, to the supporters as well.
