By presenting what looks to be a taster of new music, Foo Fighters have stunned their audience. The video is below.

Taylor Hawkins, the drummer, tragically passed away last year, and the band is currently preparing to perform their first full headline gigs since. They released what appears to be a preview of a new song after announcing that they will carry on without him.

Fans were led to believe that new music or the launch of a new album was on the way after Dave Grohl and company uploaded a brief clip of a riff-driven tune on social media with the simple statement “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

There is still speculation about who will play drums for the Foos going forward, although Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam recently refuted rumors that he would be joining the group. After Grohl received an apology from Radio X DJ Chris Moyles for disclosing the upcoming Foo Fighters album, this happened.

“I don’t know what to say without getting into trouble, I don’t know what to say without people asking, “What?,” and I don’t know what to say without coming across as a moron…He said on TV, “I don’t know what people want me to say.

“I believe that people want me to announce that a new album will be released in March of this year, even if I am unable to say anything else. I won’t say anything about that. Look, I’ll just say this. I’m sorry Dave, I’m sorry I can’t say more. Dave, I’m very sorry.

The band wrote on their website earlier this year when they announced they will carry on without Hawkins: “Foo Fighters were created 27 years ago to signify the healing power of music and a continuation of life. And over the past 27 years, our fans have created a global community that has supported us all through the most trying moments. a location where we can come together to sing the chorus of life via music, sharing our joy and grief, dreams, and anxieties.

“Without Taylor, we would never have developed into the band that we are today, and without Taylor, we are aware that we will change as a band moving forward.”

They promised: “We know that when we see you again – and we will soon – he’ll be there in spirit with all of us every night.” They also acknowledged how much Hawkins had meant to the band’s followers.

Chris Shiflett, the guitarist for Foos, predicted that the group will release a new album last year.

Shiflett observed that “most people I’ve encountered have been respectful about it or try to avoid it.” When we release another Foo Fighters album and resume the promo boogie woogie, it probably will become [more of a thing].

When I joined the Foo Fighters in 1999, it had already been a while since Kurt Cobain had passed away, but I recall watching interviewers struggle to get Dave Grohl to talk about it without actually asking. I would assume that kind of outcome,” he continued.

While the band was on tour in South America in March 2022, Hawkins passed away in Bogotá, Colombia. He was fifty years of age.

Foo Fighters’ only performances since his death came at two massive tribute concerts in London and Los Angeles in September. The band are set to kick off a long run of US headline and festival dates in New Hampshire on May 24. Visit here for tickets and more information.
