After entering a guilty plea, one of Pop Smoke’s murder suspects received a sentence.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a 20-year-old man entered a Hollywood Hills estate as a teenager in February 2020 with the intention of robbing the Brooklyn rapper, who was ultimately shot to dead by his assailants. The man pleaded guilty in juvenile court on Thursday (April 6), acknowledging his actions.

The unnamed defendant, who was the first of four accused in Pop Smoke’s death to accept guilt in the fatal incident, entered a plea of guilty to voluntary homicide and home invasion robbery.

He was given a four-year, two-month sentence to serve at the Secure Youth Treatment Facility in Los Angeles, although he could still be held in juvenile detention until he turns 25.

The offender had previously served two years and eight months in juvenile detention, but the judge decided against including that time in his punishment.

Along with a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old, Corey Walker, who was 19 at the time, is also accused in Pop Smoke’s killing.

Rapper “Dior” (real name Bashar Barakah Jackson) passed away on February 19, 2020, at the age of 20. He was taken with numerous gunshot wounds to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was subsequently declared dead.

Pop Smoke accidentally revealed the address of the house he was renting on Hercules Drive when he uploaded a picture of an Amiri gift bag on Instagram when he was in Los Angeles.

Using that knowledge, it’s claimed that night, a gang of teenagers wearing ski masks broke into the rapper’s bedroom and confronted him in the shower.

According to evidence, Pop Smoke was shot three times in the back and pistol-whipped by the 15-year-old before he stole a Rolex watch that they later sold for $2,000 on the black market.

While in “constant communication” with Walker, who was in the getaway car, the defendant who entered a guilty plea was accused of scouting the estate and assisting Walker in recruiting three additional young people for the crime.
