During the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday, Lenny Kravitz gave tribute to the victims of the Nashville, Tennessee school shooting.

Local police verified earlier in the day that a shooter at the Covenant School in the Green Hills neighborhood had killed three students and three adults. The responding officers shot the suspect, a 28-year-old lady, and killed her.

Host Lenny expressed his condolences to the families and all those impacted by the tragedy during his opening monologue at the music event on Monday night in Los Angeles.

Taking a moment, he said, “I want to send some of that healing love to the families and the innocent people who lost their lives at the Covenant School today and to the entire Nashville community.” “We are with you, even though our hearts are heavy.”

The 58-year-old concluded by saying, “Nashville, we love you, and America, we must do better.”

Along with hosting, Lenny performed a medley of his hits at the end of the program, including Fly Away, American Woman, and Are You Gonna Go My Way. Latto, Pink, Coldplay, Kelly Clarkson, and others also performed.

The two biggest winners of the evening were Harry Styles, who was named Artist of the Year, and Taylor Swift, who received Song of the Year for Anti-Hero.
