A Mississippi news anchor’s employment could have been lost due to a small amount of Snoop Dogg.

Barbie Bassett, a WLBT journalist and meteorologist, has not appeared on television during a morning broadcast, and the business website has removed her bio. When Snoop Dogg was mentioned the last time she was on the radio, she exclaimed, “Fo shizzle, my nizzle.”

The Clarion Ledger reports that Bassett was fired from her morning job as a result of “racially insensitive comments.” However, WLBT Vice President and General Manager Ted Fortenberry stated, “As I am sure you can understand, WLBT is unable to comment on personnel matters,” in the absence of any additional information regarding her dismissal.

Although Bassett received a slap on the hand, this wasn’t the first time she had to deal with offensive or insensitive remarks. She apologized after receiving criticism for these remarks in October of last year.

The most recent remarks from Bassett can be heard below.
