Cam Newton, a former quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, will take the field at Auburn’s pro day on Tuesday in an effort to sign with an NFL club.

On Tuesday afternoon in Auburn, Alabama, Auburn will host the yearly showcase, which usually only features players from its most recent roster. It will be broadcast on ESPN+.

In a video uploaded to Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram on Monday night, Newton said, “I’ve seen a lot of people experimenting with the concept. It is confirmed that I will toss at Auburn’s pro day on Tuesday.

In 2021, Newton, 33, finished his career with the Panthers. In eight games that year, he made just 54.8% of his passes for 684 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions. Although Newton had five rushing scores as well, he had a 0-5 record in 2021.

Newton reportedly asked, “Tell me how these randoms keep getting jobs,” in reference to NFL starting quarterbacks. “Don’t stress over it. I’ll demonstrate for you. I’m eager to demonstrate you.

“Ain’t 32 better than me, you dig?”

For the New England Patriots in 15 games in 2020, Newton had a completion percentage of 65.8% on his passes for 2,657 yards, eight touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. In addition, Newton ran for almost 600 yards and tallied 12 rushing touchdowns during that 7-8 season as a starter.

In 148 games over his prior 11 NFL seasons, the 2015–16 NFL MVP and three-time Pro Bowl selection completed 59.9% of his passes for 32,382 yards, 194 touchdowns, and 123 interceptions.

The most quarterback rushing touchdowns in NFL annals are 75, which were scored by Cam Newton. His 5,628 running yards are the second-most among quarterbacks, behind only Michael Vick’s 6,109 rushing yards.
