Fans of Shaquille O’Neal are alarmed by a photo of him in the hospital that he shared on Sunday.

On Sunday, O’Neal uploaded a picture of himself lying in a hospital bed with an IV attached to his arm to his social media profiles. He mentioned in the picture that he is “always watching” his TNT co-hosts Candace Parker and Ernie Johnson, even while he is in the hospital.

O’Neal, 51, remarked on the post, “Miss y’all.

The NBA on TNT presenter was reportedly having hip surgery and is now “on the mend,” according to TMZ Sports.

According to the outlet, who cited sources, O’Neal had surgery to fix a problem with his hip, and everything went “according to plan” while the NBA icon was under anesthesia.

O’Neal, who turned 51 earlier this month, recently talked about how dropping 40 pounds changed him.

O’Neal admitted to Entertainment Tonight in December, “I dropped 40 pounds. “I still need to lose around 20, but that’s remarkable. I’m going to work on my physique and work on a briefs commercial with my kids.

Shareef, Shaqir, Amirah, and Me’arah are the four children that O’Neal and his ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal have together. The athlete also has a daughter, Taahirah, with his ex-girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh, and a stepson, Myles, from Shaunie’s prior relationship.

O’Neal also revealed to ET that after receiving the results of some blood tests, he changed his nutrition.

He explained that he didn’t give much attention to his diet while he was an athlete, but that he has to now that he is off the court. O’Neal stated that in addition to trying to cut out bread and soda, he is also taking vitamins and consuming shakes.

O’Neal suggested that anyone looking to improve their health begin by exercising for at least 30 minutes each day.
