Tom Cruise is grateful that his film career has enabled him to live an adventurous existence, which has included flying fighter jets and riding motorcycles off mountains.

At the Producers Guild of America Awards on Saturday night, Cruise accepted the David O. Selznick Achievement Award and thanked the movie business while praising teachers and colleagues Sherry Lansing, Steven Spielberg, and Jerry Bruckheimer.

Cruise said, “You’ve all made it possible for me to live the adventurous life I’ve desired. I’ve had the opportunity to visit many different countries, work there, and view movies there in order to learn about their cultures, appreciate our differences, and learn how much we all have in common.

Cruise praised the other directors present and expressed support for them. 52

“I am aware that events do not just occur. I’m aware that it’s not just chance. You need to make that chance happen. It needs to be willed into reality. I want you to know that you have my support at all times. All of you have my support, he declared.

The better it is for everyone, said Cruise, “the better every studio does, the better every picture does, the better we all do.” I’m excited to see what you produce in the future, and I’ll keep doing everything I can to support and advance this field and the art form I adore.

Producers of “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio,” “Nalvany,” a CNN Films documentary, and the sci-fi adventure movie “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” which took home the night’s top award, were among the other honorees. Eleven of the previous 14 PGA champions went on to earn the best picture Oscar.
