Jordan Brand Reveals The Tatum 1, Jayson Tatum's First Signature Sneaker

The Tatum 1 is Jayson Tatum’s first Jordan Brand signature sneaker. In Jordan Brand’s performance line, the Tatum 1 is the season’s lightest sneaker and was designed with the next generation of athletes in mind.

His desire to wear a shoe that linked to his foot led to the creation of the Tatum 1, which featured a TPU frame wrapped in a ground-contact form that served as an integrated traction pattern. Tatum plays primarily with his forefoot, so the shoe has little rubber on the toe and ball of the foot to emphasize that. A substantial, cage-free Zoom Air bag on the forefoot contributes to maximum energy return without sacrificing game feel. The mesh knit upper is strong yet lightweight, and the collar is cushioned for foot support.

The Tatum 1 stands out for giving particular consideration to children’s design. Tatum desired a sneaker that was simple to put on and take off for little ones. In order to create a kid-friendly version of his signature shoe with an easy access, injected TPU tailgate mechanism, Tatum worked with the Jordan Brand design team.

Tatum adds, “I want people to feel like they can relate to me. “I recall going into the shop as a child and searching for the players’ signature shoes. I felt in sync and somehow more connected to them the minute I saw the shoe or put the shoe on. I therefore want this shoe to serve as a link between my followers and me, bringing the two of us closer together.

On April 7, The Tatum 1 will be available in complete family size.
