After the Sea Hear Now festival was postponed in 2020 because to the COVID, Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins performed as the headliners in 2021. Most of the 2020 lineup was carried over to the 2021 festival. Jack Johnson and Incubus were the featured artists when Sea Hear Now made its premiere in 2018. 2019’s headliners included The Lumineers and The Dave Matthews Band.

C3 Presents, the organization behind Lollapalooza, along with locals Danny Clinch and Tim Donnelly created Sea Hear Now. Clinch, a native of Toms River, has captured images of legendary musicians including Bruce Springsteen and Tupac Shakur.
